Antony Costes returns to defend at 70.3 Gurye, Korea

The picturesque town of Gurye, Jeollanam-do in Korea will host IRONMAN 70.3 Gurye, scheduled to take place on September 25, 2016.

Athletes will begin with a 1.9km swim in the clean, calm and fresh waters of Jiri-san Lake, surrounded by the natural beauty of the scenic mt. Jiri National Park. They will then experience a mostly flat, fast 90km bike leg taking in the scenic Gurye region, passing Jirisan Mountain, rice fields and the Seomjin River. The 21.1km run leg takes athletes along the picturesque Seomjin River before heading into Gurye Stadium where runners will complete a lap of honor before crossing the finish line.

Gurye is located in the Southwest portion of Korea, and is easily accessible from Seoul, Busan, Gwangju as well as other major cities. Recognised as a designated special tourism zone, Gurye will provide the perfect setting for Korea’s most beautiful 70.3 event.

IRONMAN 70.3 GURYE, KOREA will offer 30 qualifying age group Slots for the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Professionals compete for P-500 points and $15,000 prize purse.
