The dazzling Palm Springs area provided a picturesque desert backdrop for athletes from around the world today at year two of the IRONMAN® 70.3® Indian Wells La Quinta triathlon. Lionel Sanders (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) took the overall win clocking a time of a time of 3:34:37, while Paula Findlay (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) captured the women’s title with a time of 4:07:38 in the second edition of this event. more

Athletes will start on the beach at the closest point to the Waikato River inlet and swim 175m out into the lake before making a left-turn to follow the buoys south. 90km bike course starts to the cheers of spectators before heading into the rolling farmland surrounding Taupo. more

A glorious day in beautiful Patagonia received the hundreds of athletes who had the guts to face the raw nature of Patagonman. At 5:30 hrs. after they had jumped from a big ferry boat into the cold waters of the Aysen Fjord they started swimming at the sound of the ferry horn. The water temperature of 10.7 degrees celsius took its toll leaving 8 athletes out of the race and the tough roads of the region impressed the athletes with its different nature views. more

Australia’s Steven McKenna and Kerry Morris were a class above as they won the CHALLENGE ISKANDAR PUTERI men and women’s pro athlete races at Puteri Harbour, Johor, today. The 28-year-old McKenna recorded the fastest time in the 1.9km swim/90km bike/21km run event in 3 hours, 54 minutes and 43 seconds in the men’s race, while Kerry clocked 4:21:41 seconds to top the women’s event. more

Sarah Crowley (Brisbane, Australia) battled a competitive field to claim victory in the women’s only professional race with a winning time of 8:49:37. Heather Jackson (Bend, Ore.) finished second with a time of 8:55:49 and Meredith Kessler (Westerville, Ohio) finished third with a total time of 9:05:35. more
