Historic Augusta and scenic Savannah River played host to the 2023 edition of IRONMAN®?70.3® Augusta triathlon. The event saw Mika Noodt (DEU) capture the overall victory with a time of 3:37:14, while in the women’s race, Paula Findlay (CAN) secured the win with a finishing time of 4:05:32. A start to finish win and his first professional victory for Maximilian Sperl (GER) and a perfectly executed race by Magda Nieuwoudt (RSA) marked today’s Challenge Sanremo on the Italian Riviera. IRONMAN announced today that Louisville, Ky., will once again host an IRONMAN®-branded event with the new IRONMAN® 70.3® Louisville triathlon scheduled to take place on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024. History was made on Côte de Azur today, as the first-ever VinFast IRONMAN World Championship to take place in Europe unfolded in Nice, France. It was Sam Laidlow, racing for France, who enjoyed a dominant victory on home soil. Laidlow used a 47:50 swim, a race-best 4:31:28 bike, and a strong 2:41:46 run to improve on his runner-up performance in Kona last year to become the youngest winner of the IRONMAN World Championship in the events 40+ year history. more
