Gustav Iden saved his best racing for when it mattered most in the 2026 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series, turning a solid start to the season into a title-winning campaign with standout performances at the two World Championship races.
After opening his campaign with a 12th-place finish at Athletic Brewing IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, Iden stepped up to the full distance at the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship, finishing eighth. His season began to gather momentum in Europe, with a runner-up finish at the Mainova IRONMAN Frankfurt European Championship moving him firmly into the Pro Series conversation.
From there, Iden produced his best racing when the stakes were highest. He finished fourth at the Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice before returning to Kona, the site of his 2022 IRONMAN World Championship triumph, for the Pro Series finale.
On the Island of Hawai`i, Iden delivered the performance needed, overcoming a three-minute drafting penalty to finish second at the IRONMAN World Championship behind Vincent Luis. That result completed a run of three consecutive top-four finishes and propelled him to the top of the final Pro Series standings.
Iden finished the 2026 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series with 20,177 points, just 53 points ahead of Jonas Schomburg, securing the title by the tightest margin in Pro Series history.
