The first full-distance IRONMAN® triathlon of the European season takes place in just over two weeks with IRONMAN Hamburg, the professional women’s European Championship, and serves as the sixth stop on the 2026 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series circuit. With over 30 female professional triathletes taking to the start line, each athlete will be racing for a slice of the $87,500USD pro purse prize and one of the six qualifying slots to the 2026 IRONMAN World Championship® triathlon in Kona, Hawai`i.
Alongside the professional field, nearly 3,000 age-group athletes (both male and female) will also take to the start line, each competing for qualifying slots to the 2026 IRONMAN World Championship, Kona, bringing an electric atmosphere to an iconic city centre race.
The race will be broadcast live, free for all international audiences across
IRONMAN YouTube, ironman.com/proseries, and DAZN, with additional regional live broadcast and highlight shows also available including L’Équipe Live in France, ESPN (within Disney+), SuperSport, hr-Fernsehen, NRD, RTVE, iQIYI, and Outside TV. Broadcast and streaming information can be found at
www.ironman.com/proseries/how-to-watch.
Headlining the field is reigning champion and German fan favourite, Laura Philipp. Last year, Philipp set an IRONMAN triathlon best time of 08:03:13?as she stormed to her second victory in the city. All eyes will be on the German to see if she can make it a hattrick in Hamburg and further cement her dominance on home soil.
IRONMAN World Champion Solveig Løvseth (NOR) will also be returning to Hamburg after she came third in last year’s race, setting the fastest IRONMAN triathlon debut time (08:12:28). Løvseth, who has had a successful start to the season already with a win at the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship triathlon and a second place at the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside triathlon, currently sits in third place in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series.
Hot off the heels of her victory at the IRONMAN® 70.3® Aix-en-Provence triathlon, Marjolaine Pierré(FRA), will be looking to build on this success in her first IRONMAN triathlon of the season. Joining her, also following IRONMAN 70.3 Aix-en-Provence, is Lisa Perterer (AUT) who finished 10th. Perterer had three podium finishes in 2025 and will be racing for her ticket to the IRONMAN World Championship triathlon in 2026.
India Lee (GBR) will be making her season debut in Hamburg, following a strong 2025 campaign that included victories at the IRONMAN Les Sables d'Olonne-Vendée and IRONMAN 70.3 Tours Métropole – Loire Valley triathlons. She will be joined by compatriot Holly Lawrence (GBR), who placed an impressive 6th place finish in her debut IRONMAN World Championship in 2025, is also set to kick off her season in Hamburg.
Others to watch include Lotte Wilms (NLD), who won the 2025 IRONMAN Western Australia, Asia-Pacific Championship in this qualifying year and placed third at the ANZCO Foods IRONMAN New Zealand triathlon earlier in the season, Katrine Christensen (DNK) who placed second at the ISUZU IRONMAN South Africa African Championship triathlon, Franziska Hoffman (DEU), Nina Deron (CHE) and more.
