At 70.3 Gulf Coast Florida Americans Sam Long and Grace Alexander won the shortened event due to dangerous "overnight swells" on race morning, the swim for professionals was shortened to approximately 1,000 meters.
Men's Race: Sam Long, the 2023 champion, defended his title by showcasing his exceptional biking and running strength. Despite exiting the water 1:22 behind the leaders, Long powered to the front on the bike, setting a record-setting sub-1:50 bike split (1:49:32) at an average speed of 30.25 mph. He solidified his victory with a 1:10 half-marathon, winning by over a minute.
Women's Race: The race was a tense battle, decided by only 20 seconds. Vittoria Lopes led early in the swim, but Grace Alexander and Danielle Lewis took charge on the bike. Alexander pulled ahead of Lewis late in the run, holding off a fast-charging Lopes to win.
