The inaugural Ironman 70.3 Puerto Varas 2026 took place on April 12, 2026, in Chile’s scenic Lake District. German athlete Marcel Bolbat and local favorite Macarena Salazar secured dominant victories in the professional categories, each winning by substantial margins in the debut edition of the event.
This race marked the first time Puerto Varas hosted an Ironman-branded event, serving as a symbol of resilience for a community still recovering from severe weather damage earlier in the year. The event also provided qualifying slots for the 2026 Ironman 70.3 World Championship scheduled to take place in Nice, France.
