70.3 Augusta USA Pro Preview

Friday 22 September 2023

The IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta triathlon is set to return to the Peach State this Sunday, Aug. 24.  Home to one of North America's largest IRONMAN 70.3 races - and one of its fastest, The IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta triathlon offers one of the IRONMAN 70.3 circuit’s fastest down-river swims to kick off race day. Once out of the water, athletes will bike through the flowing countryside in rural Augusta, taking in all that this scenic Southern destination has to offer. The spectator-filled run course takes athletes through historic downtown before an unforgettable finish next to the world-famous James Brown statue in downtown Augusta.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta triathlon will feature a impressive field of professional athletes, including defending women’s champion Grace Alexander (USA), last weekend’s IRONMAN 70.3 Michigan winners, Jackson Laundry (CAN) and Tamara Jewett (CAN). Other top contenders include Trevor Foley (USA), Lionel Sanders (CAN), Paula Findlay (CAN) and Jackie Hering (USA) and many more as they compete for a part of the $30,000 USD prize purse.

The 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta offers 40 Age Group Qualifying slots in addition to 15 Women for Tri qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship on 14 & 15 December 2024 in Taupo, New Zealand.
