The Northwell Health IRONMAN 70.3 New York – Jones Beach Triathlon is set to make its much-anticipated debut on Saturday, Sept. 23 with approximately 3,800 registered athletes, from 46 U.S. States and 43 countries, regions, and territories traveling to Long Island to participate in the inaugural event.
In April, it was announced that general registration for the Northwell Health 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 New York – Jones Beach triathlon had sold out making the new event the largest inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 event in the history of the IRONMAN 70.3 brand and the first IRONMAN branded event to take place on Long Island.
Athletes will kick off their journey with a 1.2-mile swim in Zach’s Bay just outside the famous Jones Beach Amphitheater before embarking upon the 56-mile closed bike course on the flat and fast Wantagh Parkway. The 13.1-mile run course takes athletes onto the boardwalk alongside the Atlantic Ocean with an unforgettable finish line experience on the beach. IRONMAN 70.3 New York offers age group qualifying slots to the 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship taking place on Dec. 14 & 15, 2024 in Taupo, New Zealand.
In June, it was announced that Northwell Health, New York’s largest healthcare provider will serve as the title partner of the inaugural Northwell Health IRONMAN 70.3 New York – Jones Beach triathlon. Northwell Health will also serve as the Official Volunteer Partner and Official Medical Partner for the event, providing top-tier medical care.
