Countdown to making history at CHALLENGE Madrid 2019

Madrid, September 19, 2019. This Sunday, September 22nd, the 4th edition of CHALLENGE MADRID KM0 will be taking place, one of the most outstanding international triathlon events on the calendar. The event will have a total of 1,100 participants, who’ll be racing the Long Distance 226km (3.8km swim, 180km bike and 42.2km run) or Middle Distance 113km (1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run).
 
The race will kick off on Sunday at 7:45 am in the San Juan Swamp (Pelayos de la Presa). The first triathlete to cross the finish line is expected around 4:30 pm, at the Puerta del Sol - km0 in Madrid. CHALLENGE MADRID will not only distribute € 40,000 in prizes, but is also a qualifying event for THE CHAMPIONSHIP to be held in Samorin, Slovakia, next May 2020.
 
International Consolidation:
Madrid verifies its international prestige with a spectacular list of triathletes from all over the world, including 30 professional triathletes, who will be taking part in the event. Among them, the most prominent names in the men's category are Pablo Dapena (ESP), who’ll be competing in Madrid for the second consecutive year, as well as Timothy Van Houtem, winner of the 2017 and 2018 edition, and last minute announcement Víctor Del Corral. In the women's category, the favorites for this year are Lisa Roberts, Elisabetta Curridori, Verena Walter and Mirian Van Reijen.
