As host venue of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing events, the Weymouth and Portland area is used to staging international sport at the highest level. It is a popular seaside holiday resort, with its fine Georgian seafront providing an impressive backdrop to the Bay's long arc of fine, golden sand. The views from the bay are spectacular, stretching across the horizon taking in the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. Weymouth's beautiful, sandy beaches, rich heritage, and spectacular coastline make it an ideal location for IRONMAN.
The swim course is one clockwise lap, in Weymouth Bay with a rolling start to reduce congestion. 70.3 Weymouth bike course consists of one anti-clockwise loop through the rolling Dorset Countryside. The run course begins with a run from transition at Lodmoor Country Park to the finish area. From here you will then complete 3.5 laps along Weymouth's esplanade. This provides a spectator friendly run course which enables athletes to get lots of support from family, friends and locals.
