MetLife IRONMAN 70.3 Cozumel takes place in a beach-goer's paradise off of the Eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
Cozumel, a small island off of the Eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, is a popular destination for tourists year round. Visitors from all over the world flock to the beautiful beaches, amazing snorkeling and relaxing atmosphere.
The one-loop, 1.2-mile swim takes place off the coast of Cozumel in the Caribbean Sea. Following the swim, athletes will embark on the 56-mile bike course from the Chankanaab Park parking lot (T1) and finish at T2 next to Cozumel’s City Hall in the heart of downtown. The 13.1-mile run course is all flat and paved and passes many of Cozumel’s signature sites, including its waterfront walk, downtown main plaza and historic neighborhoods.
This race offers 35 qualifying slots for the 2015 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Salzburg, Austria.
Professionals are racing for P-750 (KPR) and $50,000 prize purse.
