Dublin has a great sporting heritage through Irish sports of Hurling and Gaelic Football who stage their annual championships at Croke Park, along with one of the top European rugby teams, international running events, and even a stage of the Giro d’Italia. IRONMAN will add to this sporting pedigree and combine both the best athletes in the world with newcomers to the sport.
The swim is a one lap sea swim taking place in Scotsman's Bay, Dun Laoghaire, south of Dublin city. The bike course will remain as a 56 mile single loop from Dun Laoghaire, north along the coast and through the centre of Dublin. It will continue out west of the city and return to Phoenix Park will host the second transition zone from bike to run, along with the 3 loop run course and finish on Chesterfield Avenue.
IRONMAN 70.3 Dublin offers 50 qualifying slots for the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa.
