CHALLENGE Canberra AUS Transitions to 226km in 2026

The new standard of long distance racing in Australia is here with the arrival of Challenge Australia in Canberra. Mark your calendars for 29 Nov 2026, as Australia's capital plays host to a brand new 226km triathlon.

We’re thrilled to announce the evolution of Challenge Canberra into Challenge Australia, launching on 29 November 2026 in Australia’s capital city!  Challenge Australia becomes the fourth full-distance triathlon on the national calendar, joining an elite roster of events. The 2025 113km race will serve as a test run of the 2026 full-distance layout, giving athletes the exclusive first look at what’s ahead.

THE COURSE

Swim: Single lap (3.8?km) in Lake Burley Griffin’s central basin—easy viewing for supporters.

Bike: A closed 180?km route along Canberra’s Parkway system, including exciting out-and-back Majura Parkway sections. Big speeds, stunning views, and race-ready roads.

Run: Four laps of a 10.5?km circuit along the lakeside, Commonwealth Park, Nerang Pond, and National Gallery of Australia Sculpture Gardens—finishing at John Dunmore Lang Park with epic views of Old Parliament House.
