IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong triathlon held on March 26th witnessed some amazing performances by both the male and female professional athletes. The event was a huge success, and the spectators were thrilled to see the athletes push themselves to the limit.
In the male pro category, Mike Phillips from New Zealand was crowned the champion, finishing the race with an impressive time of 3:40:00. Steve McKenna from Australia came in second, just 39 seconds behind Phillips, while Nicholas Free from Australia took the third spot, finishing 1 minute and 57 seconds behind the winner. Caleb Noble and Kye Wylde, both from Australia, secured fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In the female pro category, Grace Thek from Australia claimed the top spot, finishing the race with a time of 4:10:11. Radke Kahlefeldt from Australia secured the second spot, finishing 2 minutes and 28 seconds behind Thek. Lotte Wilms from the Netherlands secured the third spot, finishing 4 minutes and 17 seconds behind the winner. Renee Kiley and Sophie Perry, both from Australia, secured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
The race was challenging, with the athletes having to swim 1.9 km, cycle for 90 km, and run 21.1 km. The weather conditions were also challenging, with the wind and heat adding to the difficulty of the race. However, the athletes showed great determination and perseverance, pushing themselves to their limits.
