IRONMAN Western Australia Pro Start List

Thursday 01 December 2022

Matt Burton - is our top-seeded male for WA, which is no surprise given he was our 2021 IRONMAN Western Australia Champion. Matt's most recent IRONMAN race was Cairns in June earlier this year. We'll be watching to see if Matt can continue his reign as the WA Champion next weekend.

Steven McKenna - is the next male to watch, as he was our 2nd Place finisher at the 2021 IRONMAN Western Australia. He has also had a successful run at his recent 70.3 races in the Oceania circuit, placing 1st at 70.3 Melbourne and 2nd at 70.3 Sunshine Coast. Does he have what it takes to lengthen back out to the full-distance IRONMAN and continue to podium?

Max Neumann - has been taking the globe by storm, with his recent 4th Place performance at the IRONMAN World Championships putting his name on the triathlon map. Max has been the IRONMAN Cairns Champion for the last three years running, so he'll be one to follow on race day next weekend in WA. Can Max get another podium win under his belt before the end of the 2022 racing season?

Kylie Simpson - is our top-seeded female for the 2022 IRONMAN Western Australia. She was our 2021 IRONMAN Western Australia Champion and is looking strong off the back of recent podium wins on the international circuit.  She'll be one to watch on race day as she'll be gunning for a place on the podium again this year.

Sarah Thomas - is our next female Pro to watch, having secured 2nd Place at the 2021 IRONMAN Western Australia. After what seems to be a quieter IRONMAN season in Oceania, with Sarah's last full-distance race being the 2022 IRONMAN Australia in May, we have no doubt she's been working hard and will be ready to rip it for a place on the WA podium again next weekend.

Sarah Crowley - might just be the first triathlete in history to take home three 1st Place wins at IRONMAN races in the same calendar year. She was our 2022 IRONMAN Australia Champion in May and our 2022 IRONMAN Cairns Champion in June. Will she be able to dig deep and pull out a third Champion win at IRONMAN Western Australia and make history for females in triathlon?
