In its first version, Gatorade IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Rica Presented by Kölbi attracted over 42 countries. The race will take place in one of the most traditional tourist destinations in Costa Rica, with beautiful beaches and numerous recreational activities such as Scuba Diving, etc
Participants will swim 1.2 miles (1.9 km), in the protected waters of Playa del Coco beach . Spectators will have a great view of the entire Swim Course from the Coco beach.
Athletes will endure a 56 mile (90 km) bike ride. The bike course will go from the Soccer Field to the “AV. Central”, which is the highway that connects Playa del Coco with the towns of Sardinal de Carrillo and San Blas . Along the course, the athletes will be cover by the foliage cover of the jungle and will likely encounter sights of vivacious monkeys and iguanas.
The 2.5 loops run course will take athletes on a 13.1 mile (21km) beside the sea along the boardwalk, in the “Paseo del Amor”, through the town of Playas del Coco the athletes will have a sightseeing of tropical animals and the variety of the nature
The 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Rica offers 35 qualifying slots to the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Professionals compete for P-500 points and $15,000 prize purse.
