The 6th edition of CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA takes place this Saturday 19th of October. Many professionals, including Pablo Dapena, Pieter Heemeryck, Ruedi Wild, Victor del Corral, Radka Kahlefeldt, Fenella Langridge and Judith Corachán, will all be taking part. The high quality of the race or simply finishing the season by the seaside, are just some of the good reasons to come to Peguera.
CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA could also be decisive in the CHALLENGE FAMILY World Bonus ranking for some of the professionals taking part. Peguera is the last race of the European circuit and depending on their result, some of the professionals could see their prize guaranteed early. This is particularly the case for Pieter Heemeryk and Radka Kahlefeldt.
In the men’s pro field, the favourites include the Spanish athlete, Pablo Dapena, who wants to repeat last year’s result and defend his title of CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA Champion 2018, but he’s not alone in his quest to repeat victory. The 2016 Champion, Pieter Heemeryck from Belgium is in a good shape to be the first professional to possibly win two CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA titles. In addition, Ruedi Wild from Switzerland will be coming to the Spanish island with the aim of becoming the first Swiss to win CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA.
These favourites will be racing against a number of other great professional triathletes racing in Peguera including Frederic Funk (GER) and Victor Del Corral (ESP). Funk will be coming to Mallorca having recently claimed victory in Lanzarote and Victor del Corral has plans to be right at the top, having just won the CHALLENGE MADRID title two weeks ago.
In the women’s pro field, the battle for the CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA 2019 throne is likely to be between Radka Kahlefeldt (CZE), the current favourite to win the CHALLENGE FAMILY World Bonus 2019, Fenella Langridge (UK) who wants to repeat last year’s great swim and bike performance, but improve her run to be on top of the podium and the CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA Champion 2017, Judith Corachan from Spain.
