Only 35 minutes’ drive from the Danish capital of Copenhagen, Elsinore is a city steeped in Scandinavian history and folklore. From Holgor Danske protecting Denmark deep within the casemate of the fairy tale Kronborg castle and the tragic story of Hamlet, to its modern Culture Yard, the winds of history swept through this fascinating city leaving endless opportunities for exploration and adventures.
Your journey will begin with a one loop 1.9 km swim course in front of the legendary stronghold, Kronborg Castle, in the Elsinore harbour. The new Continental Tire bike course takes you on 90km through the woodlands and green open landscapes of North Zealand, before you set your sight on the coast line, and ride to an ovation in the city centre. Run the 21.1 km through the cobbled streets of Elsinore’s oldest neighbourhoods, finishing every loop along the majestic Kronborg Castle where the supportive sounds from the townfolk will carry you to victory.
The 2019 race will offer 100 qualifying slots to the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France.
