Freddy van Lierde headlines 70.3 Nice

With its mix of old-world opulence, year-round sunshine and stunning seaside location, Nice is the unofficial capital of the Côte d’Azur. A magnet for beachgoers and high-rollers since the 19th century, this coastal city has fabulous markets, an enticing old town, glorious architecture and a wealth of high-end restaurants. If you really want to soak up the Riviera vibe, there’s no better place.

Athletes begin with a beach start and embark on a one loop, 1.9 km swim in the pristine waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The 90 km bike course is the jewel of IRONMAN France passes through villages and mountains and athletes will enjoy beautiful panoramic views. The 21 km run will include a flat and fast two-loop course along the Promenade des Anglais. Athletes can expect impressive spectator support along the route.
