DESCRIPTION:The start and finish will be at Reaklif, to the southeast of Stavoren on the “IJsselmeer”, an important location in Friesland’s history. The influence of the last ice age, causing inclinations in the landscape, makes it a very challenging triathlon.
Starting is possible for one distance and only individually.
All contestants start with a 3,8 kilometre swim component in the “IJsselmeer. Following the first switch, 4 rounds of 45 kilometres of biking are next. Athletes expecting a typical flat “Dutch” terrain will be deceived in this part of Friesland. 180 kilometres of biking is followed by a whole marathon: 6 rounds of 7 kilometres running and the finish on top of the Reaklif, by the boulder with the text ‘Leaver Dea As Slaef’. Finishes may call themselves a real “Frysman”, no matter where they are from.
