The inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney is set to impress with breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains. The course is nestled at the base of the Blue Mountains and will utilise the iconic Penrith Lakes, located at the International Regatta Centre, for the swim. The bike course will include breathtaking mountain views and the final run leg of the race, which encircles the venue, will provide a great access to spectators of the entire race.
Western Sydney is one of the largest, most diverse and fastest growing economies in Australia, with its own vibrant cultural identity and iconic sports venues, events and new attractions drawing visitors to the region.
Penrith, Western Sydney, is a dynamic area and will play host to the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 event on Sunday, November 30, 2014. Penrith is located 50 km west of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of the City of Penrith. It lies east of the Nepean River.
Penrith Lakes, home to the 2000 Sydney Olympic International Regatta Centre, will encompass the event precinct.
There are 35 age group qualifying slots to the 2015 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Zell am See-Kaprun, SalzburgerLand, Austria
Professionals are competing for P-750 points and $25,000 prize purse
