Legendary pro surfer Sunny Garcia will join in the fray at XTERRA Worlds next Sunday. The former world surfing champion has been wanting to race XTERRA for years but says that now is the time to test out his new Cannondale 29er.
“It’s going to be the biggest challenge of my life,” said Garcia, a local legend and six-time winner of the Triple Crown of Surfing.
The 44-year-old professional surfer – who splits his time between Pipeline and San Clemente in California – has done a few triathlons but is new to off-road racing.
