The City of Oaks plays host to this urban race, with its finish in the heart of the city.
Greater Raleigh is one of the Southeast's most dynamic destinations. The city is full of incredible restaurants, live music venues, museums, the arts, shopping and family fun—make sure to stay a few days to truly experience all it has to offer. You can find the perfect antique brooch at one of the largest flea markets in North Carolina, sweep up a designer handbag at a specialty boutique in North Hills or Cameron Village, or shop the latest trends at one of the area's nine major shopping areas. Athletes and spectators can expect a warm welcome in the City of Oaks—home to thousands of oak trees—from the moment they arrive.
Athletes will begin their day with a 1.2-mile swim in Jordan Lake in Chatham County. The 56-mile bike course will take athletes through rural Chatham and Wake Counties before entering downtown Raleigh to transition to the run. The two-loop, 13.1-mile run course winds through downtown, around the Capital Building, out Hillsborough Street, and through NC State University before heading down Fayetteville Street for an amazing finish in City Plaza.
This race offers 30 qualifying slots to the 2015 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
Professionals compete for P-750 points and $50,000 prize purse
