Set in the heart of one of Europe's most beautiful countries the course showcases Zurich's picturesque lake and countryside, thanks to the impressive views you'll never believe you are racing through one of the world's most important financial centers.
The 3.8km swim in the crystal clear water, which is by the way of drinking water quality, features a unique Australian exit over a small island. After that the spectacular bike course leads through the city center along the lake shore out of town. 30km later on the bike you wouldn’t think there was a city even close. The next hour you drive along grazing lands, small villages and the rolling country side of Zurich. The two climbs "The Beast" and "Heartbreak Hill" are lined with spectators cheering and ringing the typical cow bells. The four-loop run course leads through the parks of the city and along the lake shore.
In Zurich, as typical for Switzerland, everything from shopping to spas and restaurants are very close to the race site and are within walking distance.
There are 50 Age group qualifying slots for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, HI.
